Bonfire Bash Raises $2.6 Million to Send Kids with Serious Illness to Camp

On November 5, 2025, our community came together for a sold-out event. More than 800 guests filled the Automotive Building at Toronto’s Exhibition Place for our Bonfire Bash Gala, presented by GFL Environmental Inc. It was an unforgettable celebration of generosity and connection – raising over $2.6 million to help kids with cancer or serious illness and their families experience the joy of camp all year round.

That record-breaking total means 1,040 more weeks of medically supported camp – delivering healing through to kids and families who need it most.

The evening began with a lively cocktail reception, followed by a gourmet dinner and dance party. Our hosts, Canadian TV personality Sangita Patel and Bonfire Bash Chair Holly Miklas, guided us through the night with warmth and enthusiasm.

One of the most powerful moments came when ten-year-old camper Nori shared her story. As she spoke about facing cancer and finding joy through Campfire Circle – in hospital and at overnight camp – the room fell silent. Her words reminded us why we do what we do: to help kids be kids, no matter their diagnosis.

Throughout the night, generosity filled the air. Our live auction, generously supported by Air Canada Foundation and hosted by Christie’s Brett Sherlock, offered luxury experiences and adventures. Guests bid on one-of-a-kind canoe paddles through the Paddle Project presented by BMO, featuring artwork by Canadian icons, such as the late Gordon Lightfoot, Mike Myers, Sarah McLachlan, and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Artist Rob Prior even created a live painting with the help of our campers, blending creativity and community.

As the night ended, one lucky Sweepstake winner took home a 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan Turbo, thanks to Volkswagen Canada.

As our CEO Alex Robertson said, “Bonfire Bash was a beautiful reflection of what happens when compassion meets community.” Every dollar raised, every smile shared, and every story told helps us move closer to our goal of reaching 10,000 kids each year by 2030.

Thank you to all of our generous donors, sponsors, supporters, volunteers, and staff who made this incredible night possible.
