Why Alain Rides: A Tour d’Epicure Spotlight

Meet Alain Paquette
Every rider in Tour d’Epicure has a reason for showing up. For Alain Paquette, a proud six-time participant, it’s about giving kids with cancer or serious illness the chance to just be kids.
“Camp provides a safe and joyful environment where they can connect with others who understand their journey while receiving the medical care they need. That’s why I ride.”
Alain first became passionate about fundraising for childhood cancer through another charity ride, and when it ended, he found Campfire Circle as another way to support the cause.
“Even the smallest act can create a ripple effect in a child’s life. That’s what giving back means to me.”
While Alain loves the scenery, food, and local wine, it’s the people—those united by a shared purpose—who make the experience unforgettable. His advice for first-time riders?
“You don’t need to be a pro. It’s designed for all skill levels, and you’ll never be left behind. This ride is about community, not competition. Enjoy the day and remember why you’re there.”
Tour d’Epicure
On Saturday, June 21, riders will come together for Tour d’Epicure, an intimate one-day cycling and epicurean adventure starting and finishing at the beautiful Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate.
Choosing between a 50 KM or 100 KM route, cyclists, like Alain, will enjoy the beauty of this world-famous region while stopping at multiple wineries and vineyards for lunch and rest stops. The day ends with a private camp-inspired dinner and a VIP concert experience from Sam Roberts Band.
With a mission to raise to $150,000 for Campfire Circle’s Rainbow Lake site, Tour d’Epicure supports kids with cancer or serious illness and their families by providing much-needed programs that help build connection and create lifelong memories, all at no cost to them.
