From IV Needles to Pool Noodles

Two years ago, Jasper’s life — and his family’s — was turned upside down. Days after his eight birthday, Jasper was diagnosed with leukemia. What followed was an arduous cycle of hospital visits, treatments, and uncertainty.
During this challenging time, Campfire Circle entered their lives. Camp brought joy and light to Jasper’s days at the hospital. With ukuleles, songs, books, and games, the Campfire Circle in-hospital team gave Jasper moments of laughter and connection. He even visited our designated play space at SickKids, called The Cabin, a welcoming place where kids undergoing treatment can simply play.
In the fall, Jasper and his family attended a Weekend at Camp and in 2024, Jasper attended his first overnight camp experience in Muskoka.
When a child is diagnosed with cancer or serious illness, it affects the whole family, and Campfire Circle tries to find support for every member. In the fall, when Jasper and his family attended a Weekend at Camp, Jasper’s parents found connection with other families facing similar journeys.
The following summer, Jasper attended his first overnight camp experience in Muskoka, where he swam in the lake, sang songs around the campfire, and made friends. His younger brother, Felix, attended sibling overnight camp, and Milo, Jasper’s youngest brother, joined day camp.
These experiences were more than just fun—they were empowering.
“Campfire Circle has provided us with joy and a different kind of healing. For Jasper, for his brothers, for all of us,” says his dad, Zack.
With summer fast approaching, we need your help to give the gift of healing through happiness to more children and families like Jasper’s. Give today and our thoughtful donation will be matched by McKesson Canada, doubling your impact.
