For over 20 years, Care Camps has provided tremendous support to Campfire Circle, helping bring joy and laughter to children who need it most. The partnership with Care Camps is grounded on the values they embody – passion, collaboration, transparency and inclusivity in providing hope for a bright and healthy future for children with cancer.

In 1984, the KOA (Kampgrounds of America) Owners’ Association created Care Camps to provide opportunities for children with cancer to attend oncology camps, where they can escape from their pain and suffering, receive their treatments and have lots of fun while being with other kids just like them. Working together, KOA owners, the KOA home office, partners and KOA campers raise funds for a single cause: to send children affected by cancer to medically supervised camps where they have a wonderful time in the great outdoors with other kids who understand what they’re going through. They do it all while receiving the treatments they need. Until cancer is a memory, Care Camps will continue to help these great kids make joyful memories of their own.

The support Campfire Circle received from Care Camps in 2022 after two long years of pandemic disruption was significant, as it helped the organization bring back summer camp for over 700 kids affected by childhood cancer. It’s hard to express in words what reconnecting in person, at camp, meant for our kids, families, staff and volunteers. The energy, the laughter, the tears of joy…it was nothing short of a miraculous reunion for everyone involved.

Our partnership with Care Camps this year will help us serve even more kids affected by childhood cancer.
