Frequently asked questions
For all Overnight Camp and Day Camp programs, you will have the opportunity to connect with your fellow counsellors prior to camp to discuss ridesharing and camp prep. If transportation is ever a barrier for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to CAMPFIRE CIRCLE!
Yes! At CAMPFIRE CIRCLE we require that all one week Volunteers sign-up for a night off and all two week Volunteers sign-up for a day off – you’ll sign-up at On-Site Training! We also encourage all Counsellors to try and take one hour off every day to help you stay present. Day Camp Counsellors do not get any scheduled time off but we encourage you to take the time when you need it.
We get a lot of last minute changes to the number of Campers coming to Camp so we can only let you know who you are with when you get to Camp. At Overnight and at Day Camp we will let you know what cabin you are with when you come for your session.
Because of the unique population that CAMPFIRE CIRCLE works with, Volunteers who have symptoms (sore throat, fever, cough) cannot stay at Camp. Once you are symptom-free for 48 hours, you can return back to Camp. If you are sick and need to leave Camp, you must provide your own transportation.
Yes! At Overnight Camp, you can get access to the camp WiFi so you can connect with your life back home when the campers have gone to bed. Unfortunately, there is no WiFi at Day Camp and not much time to use it!
There will be lots of training happening at On-Site Training that aims to get you ready for planning a program. You will have lots of resources there, including your fellow Counsellors who will help you plan the best program!
