The Benefits of Corporate Fundraising

You’ve registered to participate in the Sporting Life 10K, and in the next four months, you’ve set a goal to complete your first race or set a personal best. Why not also take the time to raise funds for Campfire Circle – and even build a corporate team!
Why Fundraise?
Fundraising in of itself has its own rewards, but workplace fundraising is an optimal way to boost employee social wellbeing and work toward a shared goal. Fundraising activities provide you and your team the chance to bond in a way you can’t always do in the context of work – especially with more people working remotely.
Best of all, participating in Sporting Life 10K also provides an added wellness benefit. Since team members are able to walk, jog or run, they can motivate each other to reach their goals and interact with their colleagues in a relaxed, fun and fulfilling setting outside of work. In fact, according to a recent Gallup poll, feelings of employee isolation can be reduced by up to 20 percent.
Top 5 Fundraising Tips
Now that you’ve created your corporate team, here are a few ways to help you keep motivated, engaged and on target!
Set Tangible Goals
Set a fundraising goal and ensure your team is aware of the target and your progress!
Why not challenge your team with a goal of $2,500 to send a kid to a week of camp? Or set your sights even higher to double or triple the number of kids you can help send to overnight camp! You can also take guidance in the symbolic giving levels:
Make it Personal
Personalize your team page. Create custom swag, such as t-shirts and bandanas, as well as posters and banners. Hang them around the office and wear them proudly.
Use All Your Corporate Channels!
Remember that some team members may be working remotely, located in another office or participating in the Sporting Life 10K virtually. Create a Slack channel, email list, WhatsApp or Facebook group to communicate with your team about upcoming events, milestones and logistics.
Get your team members to insert their fundraising page link to their email signatures. And even better, ask if your organization can match your team’s fundraising contributions.
Use Social Media
Use social media to help spread the word and share the reason you and your team are participating for Campfire Circle! Post your fundraising page link to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and make sure to use #SportingLife10K in your posts.
Host a Lunch and Learn
Invite Campfire Circle to host a lunch and learn session for your team. Perhaps it’s a kick-off event or a way to celebrate a milestone or boost morale. The lunch and learn helps remind everyone why you’re doing this – to bring laughter and joy to kids and families affected by childhood cancer or serious illness.
Campfire Circle is available to provide you with the resources you need to build a successful fundraising campaign. As a team captain, expect to receive additional information from us leading up to the event to help you meet your goals.
